Our School

​Dr. Roberta Bondar Public School opened in September, 1996 in North Ajax. Our school serves Junior Kindergarten to Grade Eight students. Our present enrolment is approximately 215 students with a staff of 20 which includes administrators, teachers and support staff.

Our school is located in a culturally diverse community. We strive to organize and implement initiatives to increase our students’ awareness of ethnocultural issues, assisting them to recognize racism, ethnocultural prejudice and discrimination. We aim to equip our staff and students with the skills required to live and work in our diverse society.

Our school's official colour is teal. It was chosen by Dr. Roberta Bondar herself when the school opened.

EcoSchools

Dr. Roberta Bondar P.S. is an EcoSchool. Ontario EcoSchools is an environmental education program that addresses both how schools are run and what students learn. It has been designed collaboratively by school boards for school boards to incorporate environmental education as well as environmentally-responsible action into the school setting. The program aims to influence young people during a formative period of life, and effect an exponential impact as children take a culture of conservation home.
