Our School

Terry Fox Public School is named after the Canadian Terry Fox, who endeavoured to run across Canada to raise money for cancer research before succumbing to the disease himself.  Our school motto is Courage, Optimism, Respect & Perseverance. Our school mascot is The Trailblazer - Terry Fox. Terry Fox Public School was officially opened in September 2006. We share recreational facilities with the Town of Newmarket (Margaret Arkinstall Park).

Programs

As with each school in the York Region District School Board, Terry Fox Public School supports student learning through curriculum standards set out by the Ontario Ministry of Education and many other co-curricular activities. 

Our school:

• promotes a safe and supportive learning environment. This is done through the Board’s Safe Schools Policy and Procedures, the Character Education Initiatives and Restorative Approaches
• provides Special Education Programs
• provides a before and after school program. Service is provided by Denison Day Care
