Mount Pleasant Village Public School is a new school, nestled behind the GO station. The community is designed to be a "walking community" with access to public transit and local shops built close by. The community also features an outdoor skating rink in the winter months, which turns into a fountain and reflecting pond in the summer months. Mount Pleasant Village is a joint venture between the Peel board, the City of Brampton and the Brampton Public Library. As such, the school library is a shared facility that is open to the public in the evenings.
Northwest Brampton is a large area forming the northwest corner of Brampton. This is a newer neighbourhood, with development in the 2000s, and ongoing. Homes are mostly 2-storey, large detached and semi-detached, on narrow lots. The area includes schools, parklands, sports fields, and wooded areas, as well as commercial and services areas. It is convenient to the Mount Pleasant GO station.
