The Avondale neighbourhood is in south central Brampton, and the southern part was the first residential development phase for then-Bramalea, in the 1970s. The "A" section featured street names beginning with A, and subsequent sections followed alphabetically, so other areas in the northwest, north, and northeast parts of this neighbourhood have street names beginning with B and C. Avondale features park lands and trails, schools, and a commercial plaza, as well as an industrial and business area in the south.
