About Hewson PS

Hewson Public School opened in September 2005 and was named after the Hewson family who farmed in our local school area. The population of the community continued to grow to our present size of about 700 students from kindergarten to grade 5. Our growing community is actively and positively involved with our students and staff and supports us in achieving our student success goals. We have an emphasis on excellence in academics, the arts, athletics and character development. We model respect for all and nurture a positive, safe environment of learning by accepting and celebrating everyone. We cultivate these positive attitudes by honouring wonder, imagination and exploration. The activities in our school promote responsibility, citizenship and active learning.
