Beasley is a neighbourhood in the Lower City of Hamilton. The Beasley neighbourhood is bounded in the north by the Canadian National Railway tracks just north of Barton Street, in the west by James Street, in the south by Main Street and in the east by Wellington Street. The Beasley neighbourhood is one of the oldest and one of the first neighbourhoods of Hamilton. The community is named after Richard Beasley, who was a soldier, political figure, farmer and businessman in Upper Canada. Featuring a combination of residential and commercial areas, Beasley is home to notable Hamilton places including the International Village shopping district, the Hamilton Courthouse and Hamilton General Hospital.
