Located in Toronto, Canada, M.I.S.A. (Metro International Secondary Academy) is a comprehensive learning centre that offers full-time high school courses in Grades 9-12 to both domestic and international students who are working toward obtaining their Ontario Secondary School Diploma. Our Programs and Services are designed with the focus of helping all students gain entry into a diverse number of post-secondary programs. Our goal is not only to prepare students for entry into the post-secondary program they have been working towards, but to teach them the fundamental approaches to research and studying, that will ensure they succeed in university, and later in their chosen careers.
German Mills, in southwest Markham, was named for the early German settlers in the area, and has a rich history. German Mills became the first significant industrial complex in Markham township. In the 1790s, it boasted a warehouse for the Northwest Fur Trade Company, a grist mill, saw mill, blacksmith shop, and homes. Today German Mills is primarily a residential neighbourhood, with the bulk of the homes being single-family residences built in the 1970s and 1980s, as well as some apartment buildings and townhomes. The neighbourhood features park lands as well as natural areas along the Rouge River.
