About Nokiidaa PS

Nokiidaa Public School (formerly Sir John A. Macdonald Public School) opened its doors for the first time in September 2012. Since then we have been working tirelessly to provide all of our students with a rich and well-rounded school experience. As a school community, we are committed to creating and fostering a warm, caring and supportive educational environment for your child. We strongly believe in and value a community school, where the school is an integral part of the community. We will provide your children with rich learning tasks that challenge their thinking, arouse their curiosity and value their interests and talents.

Nokiidaa PS is located in Cathedraltown

Cathedraltown is in northwest Markham, bordered by Highway 404 in the west, Major Mackenzie Dr to the south, Victoria Square Blvd to the east, and Elgin Mills Rd to the north. The name Cathedraltown comes from the Cathedral of the Transfiguration, which is the centrepiece of the neighbourhood. Development of this unique neighbourhood began in 2006, and is ongoing. The architecture is in Georgian and Regency styles, with rows of elegant townhomes, condos, as well as single detached homes. Cathedraltown is planned to have a central piazza around the cathedral, large public spaces, an arboretum, and a commercial and services area.
