The Wismer residential neighbourhood, also called Wismer Commons, is located in north central Markham, directly north of Raymerville. Its borders are 16th Ave to the south, McCowan Rd to the west, Major MacKenzie Dr E. to the north, and Markham Rd to the east. Wismer Commons is named after the Wismer Family, one of the founding pioneer families of Markham. This newer development has residential areas centred around a park and playing fields. Homes are mostly large single detached, 2-storey. A commercial area lies along Markham Rd. and along 16th Ave. Markham Museum is in this neighbourhood.
