Forest Glen Public School is a school community that celebrates diversity, strengthens core values and fosters a joy for learning. We are proud of our inclusive learning community that believes in engaging children in meaningful learning experiences. Forest Glen is a school made up of many different cultures, allowing us rich opportunities to learn from each other, thus creating a positive and respectful environment.

We build a positive climate for learning and working together by teaching and reinforcing the six Peel character attributes (caring, co-operative, honest, inclusive, responsible, respectful) in all daily interactions as well as at regular Celebration Assemblies. Another component to providing a safe and nurturing environment is our school-wide implementation of the Second Steps program which reinforces social skills through problem solving. As well, we are working towards earning Ontario EcoSchool recognition by promoting environmental responsibility. This school-wide focus encourages children’s awareness of this particular social justice issue.

We are also committed to enhancing parent engagement through various initiatives such as collaborating with our family of schools (from high school to elementary) to promote our “Understanding of Each Other” evenings, parent “Coffee Hour” workshops and school council events. All these initiatives help to empower parents to support their child’s learning.
