Our mission is to create a caring and inclusive learning community that facilitates and inspires student successes and values the diversity of our learners. Through collaboration with home and school, we nurture our children's personal, academic and physical growth. This will prepare our students to become empathetic, responsible and active participants in the global community.

Our focus is one that builds collaboration and continued growth in our teaching and learning journey. We encourage our staff members to be reflective practitioners, to develop peer coaching relationships and networks and as well, balance work and life. As part of our commitment to improvement and growth through a collaborative approach, we use delivery models such as lunch n’ learn, professional learning days, OFIP Days, grade team meetings, workshops, seminars, in-school release time and staff meetings. We have specialty programs such as Reading Recovery which is an early, one-on-one intervention, daily instructional program that targets the lowest achieving grade 1 children to develop reading and writing skills in order to reach average levels. The primary interval class is a self-contained special education program for children from grades 1 to 3 that offers a structured, safe and nurturing learning environment with individualized academic program for children experiencing social/behavioural difficulties. The junior communication program provides an alternative setting to the regular class program through a smaller student/teacher ratio with a focus in building literacy skills through small group direct instruction.
