Welcome to Whitehorn Public School, a caring environment where staff, students and families form a community committed to helping children achieve their best in the journey for lifelong learning. Through the Peel board character attributes, we are helping students “Soar to the PEAK," by working together to enable them to develop the attitudes, behaviours and skills necessary for lifelong learning.

Our Motto is, “SOARING TO THE PEAK: P-Participation, E-Effort, A-Achievement and K-Kindness.”

Our mission is, “At Whitehorn, we will provide opportunities and encourage active participation by students in order to realize their intellectual, emotional, physical and social potential within a safe, welcoming environment.”

Our vision is, “Within the next five years, staff, students and parents will work collaboratively to further enhance our caring, diverse and inclusive environment. We, as a learning community, will create opportunities to think critically, solve problems and make informed decisions.”

To enhance student leadership, activities such as library helpers, AV helpers, PALS leaders, grade 5 lunchroom monitors, MCs and school ambassadors for school related activities (e.g., concerts, assemblies and new students to the school) are a few of the opportunities provided for them.

There are a variety of extracurricular activities that students have an opportunity to participate in during our e-breaks. Although this list is not all encompassing, some activities include: basketball, dodgeball, benchball, choir, percussion club and karate club.

We welcome the involvement of parents as volunteers and/or members of our school council. In partnership with our parents and community, we can support our students to “Soar to the Peak” each and every day.
