Our School
Founded in 2006, more than 3000 students have graduated from the THINNOX Academy over the past decade. Operating from two campuses in Mississauga, THINNOX caters to two different education needs of students aspiring high achieving careers in Technology, Education and Design (TED). The THINNOX learning experience is significantly different from what is offered at other educational institutions.
THINNOX provides 110 hours of TED workshops annually to every student over and above the regular programming. This unique, immersive, learning by doing method, offers endless opportunities for students interested in making an early start at building the foundations and achieving progressive excellence in the fields of Technology, Engineering and Design, even as they pursue their Ontario Secondary School Diploma. The involved and empathetic guidance counselling process, the feedback based program personalization process combined with systematic reporting mechanism delivers proven results for students, both, in and out of class rooms.
What is Foundations?
The singular purpose of the Foundations program at THINNOX is to prepare Middle School (Grades 7 and 8) students for an easy but purposeful transition to High School (Grades 9+).
How do we do that? We do that through personalized education planning and small class sized. We do that through learning and teaching methods that is based on hands on work and on-going assessments as opposed to class room lectures. We do that by starting with the end in mind by assessing SMART outcomes individualized to the student and providing sustained guidance.
The THINNOX method built on extreme personalization, outcome orientation and emphasis on experiential learning is a proven method leading to student successes year after year.
What is Discovery Program?
The Discovery Program at THINNOX prepares Grade 9 and Grade 10 students for a stress free, methodical and purposeful transition to the college and university preparatory grades (Gr 11 and 12) in High School. How do we do that? We do that through personalized education planning and small class sized. We do that through learning and teaching methods that is based on hands on work and on-going assessments as opposed to class room lectures. We do that by starting with the end in mind by assessing SMART outcomes individualized to the student and providing sustained guidance. What is Career Preparation Program?
The primary purpose of the Higher Ed and Career Prep Program at THINNOX is to prepare Grade 11 and Grade 12 students gain admission to their choice of College or University based on their respective longer term career interests. This program additionally prepares Grade 11 and 12 students for a stress freeand successful transition to the first year of college or university. How do we do that? We do that through personalized education planning and small class sized. We do that through learning and teaching methods that is based on hands on work and on-going assessments as opposed to class room lectures. We do that by starting with the end in mind by assessing SMART outcomes individualized to the student and providing sustained guidance.
