MISSION STATEMENT

At St. Christopher School we believe that we are called to nurture all members of our community in our Catholic beliefs and traditions. Our staff, students, parents, and parish team will work together to foster a safe, caring and inclusive environment for all. We will work together to ensure the academic, social and emotional success of all learners as we journey to fulfill the Ontario Catholic School Graduate Expectations.

CATHOLIC FOCUS

St. Christopher School is a member of the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board in the Mississauga South Family of Schools. St. Christopher is an educational community of diverse learners including a variety of cultural backgrounds. It is located in the south west part of Mississauga known as Clarkson/Lorne Park in behind St. Christopher Church. St. Christopher has approximately 470 students from kindergarten to grade 8. The school houses the Extended French Program for the South Mississauga area with students coming from 9 other schools. The program begins in grade 5. St. Christopher feeds into Iona Catholic Secondary; however, students interested in Extended French can attend Loyola Catholic Secondary school. The school also offers an after school program through the YMCA for FDK and school age children up to age 12.

Our school community benefits from a strong, faith-filled professional education team that works collaboratively to meet the needs of all learners. St. Christopher also has a very active Catholic School Council that is committed to the staff, students and community in nurturing the home-school-parish partnership. We are fortunate to be located directly behind the church which helps foster a strong, positive relationship with our parish team. St. Christopher Catholic School believes that the Catholic faith, as expressed through Gospel values, is the driving force in the school’s community of learners, which includes five key groups: students; educators; the parish, home and community; support staff; Superintendent and trustees. The school strives to be a Christ-centred system in which all may work and learn in a supportive, inclusive, meaningful, and respectful environment. Within the context of an authentic Catholic learning community, it strives “…to provide students with the opportunity to realize their potential and develop into highly skilled, knowledgeable, caring citizens who contribute to society.”
