MISSION STATEMENT

The community of St. Luke School, teachers, parents and parish, strives to nurture all students so that they may attain their full spiritual, academic, and physical potential as envisioned by Ministry and Board standards. We endeavor to provide a comprehensive system of assessment, analysis and support to ensure a safe and effective Catholic learning environment. As members of the St. Luke Community, we strive to be a caring community of teachers and parents who, together with our two parishes, celebrate the values and traditions of our Catholic faith with our children. We all work together in mutual trust and respect for each other and for the children in our care. We provide a positive, safe school environment, where the talents, gifts and potential of every child are encouraged and cherished.

CATHOLIC FOCUS

St. Luke Catholic Elementary School located at 1280 Cobalt St. in south Mississauga, opened in September 2004 and was blessed on May 13, 2004. The focus of our school community is the successful working relationship of school, home and parish triad. The school actively joins our parish, St. Mary Star of the Sea, as evidenced by our close relationship with the parish team. Some of our community members attend St. Christopher Parish. St. Luke is the patron saint of artists, physicians, bachelors, surgeons, students and butchers. His feast day takes place on October 18. St. Luke trained as a physician. He was also one of the most extensive writers of the New Testament. Our school motto, “Caring, Nurturing, and Growing”, encapsulates the essence of the life and example of St. Luke and the individuals who are members of our school community. At St. Luke, our charity food drives, our ‘Angel on a Tree’ Christmas collection for our families in need, Masses, sacraments, and social justice initiatives reflect the words of Jesus ‘Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.’
