At McBride Public School we are home of the lions. The paw prints of our lion are symbolic of the footprints we leave in this world. We strive to teach a similar message that native people teach about morality; that is, McBride students work to understand the impact that our choices have on people living generations from now and through the many initiatives related to local and global citizenship. We make a difference in the world!

We believe that learning is different today than it was in the past. Keeping the needs of the 21st century learner at the forefront of what we do, we strive to provide a continued focus on curriculum, teacher expertise and assessment. Also at McBride, we focus on providing our students with opportunities that support creative and critical thinking.

At our school we are rich in diversity and recognizing this, we aim to provide a strong school wide character education plan that embeds equity and inclusive education principles. Teacher participation in our climate program leads to them addressing issues of equity and social justice within their classrooms and at the school level. We have a continued focus on developing our repertoire of culturally responsive practices. We value the ongoing development of a positive climate for students, parents and staff to learn and work together.

At McBride, we believe that the keys to academic success are achievement, attendance, attitude and behaviour. A well-rounded student will focus on achieving to the best of their ability, in all of these areas. As a team of educators, we help to develop the whole child by offering a number of curricular and extracurricular activities such as an outstanding instrumental music program, athletics, the arts, community outreach and many more. By offering our students a variety of experiences we are developing the whole child and creating a positive school climate for all.
