About C.E. Academy

The CE Academy integrates an Ontario-based curriculum into the Conductive Education (CE) model and philosophy. Conductive Education (CE), developed by Dr. András Pető, is a holistic, multidisciplinary approach that focuses on the education, training, development and physical (motor) advancement of individuals with various neurological conditions. CE is largely based on the belief that all individuals have the ability to develop and progress physically, regardless of their starting point. Learning and physical/motor development are promoted through a structured teaching environment, led by a conductor and with the use of furniture and equipment. These aids encourage motor function and are designed for independent sitting, standing and walking as well as improving fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and self-care. The program is carried out in a group setting, which has been shown to provide a number of benefits that enhance social interactions, such as group dynamic motivation and healthy competition while enabling individuals to support each other and learn from one another. Moreover, conductors create groups that maximize learning opportunities to ensure that all participants benefit from the experience.
