MISSION STATEMENT

At Sts. Martha and Mary Catholic School, we are called to nurture and build a Catholic community based on the beliefs and traditions of our faith. We strive to foster a safe, caring and inclusive environment where all are welcomed and respected. Through the partnership with the home, parish and the school we endeavour to ensure the physical, social, cognitive, emotional and spiritual success of all learners in our care as we journey to fulfill the Ontario Catholic Graduate Expectations. It is our vocation to know our learners and have their voices reflected in all that we do. The school strives to be a Christ-centred system in which all may work and learn in a supportive, inclusive, meaningful and respectful environment.

CATHOLIC FOCUS

Sts. Martha and Mary, established in 1976, is a member of the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board in the Mississauga East Family of Schools. The school is named for the patron saints Martha and Mary (Mary of Magdalene) who were sisters of Lazarus, whom was raised from death by Jesus. These women were visited numerous times by Jesus. This school community is very proud to be named after these important biblical women.

Sts. Martha and Mary is an educational community of diverse learners of a variety of cultural backgrounds. The school is affiliated with Sts. Martha and Mary Church and is a feeder school to Philip Pocock Secondary School. The school also offers before and after school day care programs through PLASP. Our school community benefits from a strong, faith-filled, professional education team that works collaboratively to meet the needs of all learners. Sts. Martha and Mary also has a very active School Council that is committed to the staff, students and community in nurturing the home-school-parish partnership. Our Support Resource Officers through the Region of Peel, and our Region of Peel Health nurse, also play an integral role in providing supports and programs for our students. Our school Trustee Mario Pascucci, is a dedicated and strong advocate of our Catholic system and of supporting the needs of our school and all schools in his care.
