About Beau Valley PS

Beau Valley Public School is a JK-8 school located in north Oshawa, just south of Taunton Road with the parking area located on Ritson Road. Originally built in 1966, the school has about 275 students. The School Community Council of Beau Valley meets once a month to discuss current initiatives and plan activities and fundraisers which benefit our students. This dedicated group of parent volunteers and teacher representatives has been supportive of many initiatives that enhance teaching and learning such as Scientist in Schools, Blue Spruce/ Silver Birch/ Red Maple Reading Programmes, and the purchase of library resources which support the Ontario curricula. Our school welcomes parent volunteers who assist individual students and groups of students on their road towards academic excellence. Parent volunteers also help to raise funds through monthly Pizza lunches and our magazine sales, to support many of the school’s programs. In the surrounding community, our ever-watchful Block Parents focus on the safety of our students.

Housing is mainly single-detached homes in a real variety of architectural styles, from century homes up to roughly 1980, most of them on fairly generous lots. There are also both high-rise and low-rise apartment buildings and condos, and townhome complexes, in the north end, as well as new condo and townhome developments in the southeast area.
