Lakewoods Public School is proud of its heritage and dedication to providing quality education for its students. The school was built on the shore of Lake Ontario in 1970 for students from kindergarten to grade six and had an addition completed in the 1990's to accommodate students from junior kindergarten to grade eight. Today, Lakewoods works in conjunction with parents to meet the needs of 335 students with 19 teaching staff and additional support through educational assistants, early childhood educators, secretarial and custodial services. We are pleased to have Full Day Kindergarten at our school and welcome about 55 students in our early years’ classes. We offer a daily breakfast club in addition to providing a healthy snack for all students in the school several days of the week.
The Lakeview neighbourhood is located in the southeast corner of Mississauga, with Lake Ontario as its southern boundary. Most homes in Lakeview single-detached, older homes, built before the 1980s, and are in a variety of ages and architectural styles. A golf course is located in the northeast region of Lakeview, and the Etobicoke Creek forms the eastern border. A parcel of industrial land in this area is planned for development of a lakefront community of townhomes, condos, restaurants, office space, and lakefront walkways and park lands.
