About Mary Street Community School

Mary Street Community School is a small community school located in the downtown core of Oshawa. Originally called Colborne Street School, Mary Street Public School was built in 1877 in what was then rural Oshawa. The structure was closed in 1979 and today's Mary Street Community School, a joint project between the City of Oshawa and the Durham District School Board, opened its doors in 1983. Presently, our school has a population of approximately 140 students in Grades JK to 8. We also offer two full day kindergarten classes at our school. Over the years, we have developed strong relationships with our community members. We believe that our success is driven by the dedicated commitment and support of our extended family in the Oshawa community.
