Joseph Gould Public School is home to 574 students. A significant portion of our students are bussed to school each day. We have a strong background in special education and are very pleased to offer three special education classes to support qualifying students. At Joseph Gould, we work to provide a well-rounded educational experience. Our students are given many opportunities to participate in extra-curricular activities in sports, music, drama and art, as well as a variety of special interest clubs. Students, parents and staff value these experiences and believe them to be an integral part of our students’ education. Joseph Gould P.S. is certified as an Eco School which indicates the school wide focus of taking responsibility for our environment.
Uxbridge is a township in the Regional Municipality of Durham in south-central Ontario. The main centre in the township is the namesake community of Uxbridge. Other communities within the township include Coppins Corners, Goodwood, Leaskdale, Sandford, Siloam, Victoria's Corner, and Zephyr. It was named for Uxbridge, England, a name which was originally derived from "Wixan's Bridge". The Wixan were a 7th-century Saxon tribe from Lincolnshire who also began to settle in what became Middlesex.
