Lawrence Park South is the area of Lawrence Park located south of Lawrence Avenue East. Lawrence Park was one of Toronto's first planned garden suburbs. Begun in the early part of the 20th century, the building of houses was interrupted by two world wars, a recession and a depression. It wasn’t until the 1950s that this neighbourhood was completed. It is now one of the wealthiest neighbourhoods in all of Canada. The neighborhood is located in a setting that includes gently rolling hills, several parks, and a ravine. Lytton Park, in Lawrence Park South, predominantly features Georgian and Tudor Style houses. Many of these houses were built from 1890 to 1930. Houses in Lytton Park are situated on large lots with lush, manicured gardens. Chatsworth Ravine runs through the area.
