Our School
At Vaughan Baptist Christian Academy, our prayer is that the Lord will use our school to equip students with character, knowledge, and skills that will propel them successfully through life and in service to Him. We value our students and know that the Creator has a specific purpose for each life entrusted to our care. We take the responsibility of educating your child seriously and joyfully.
Academics
To ensure that students receive a high-quality, traditional education, we use A Beka Online Streaming. This program features experienced instructors who teach core curriculum classes such as arithmetic and phonics to each student based on his or her grade level, while our own teacher monitors our students, ensuring that they are listening and participating. Our teachers complement the online video teachers by giving further instruction, explaining difficult concepts, answering questions, conducting reading circles, reviewing, administering quizzes and tests, and communicating with parents. Students follow along with their own full-colour books from A Beka, a Christian textbook publishing company with a reputation for academic excellence.
Each grade has its own learning centre, and individual headsets are worn through portions of the school day. We combine grades for classes such as music and physical education, which are taught by onsite teachers. Students also participate in chapel and other assemblies together, where they sing Bible songs, receive academic awards, and hear from God’s Word. Exciting lessons; fun crafts and activities; special days (like “Crazy Hat Day” and “Favourite Sports Team Day”)—all these make for school memories that will last a lifetime.
