About Our School
Trafalgar Castle School is an all-girls, independent day and boarding school for grades 4 through 12. Located in Whitby, Ontario, we’ve been educating girls since 1874 within a warm and progressive community that offers exceptional academics and prepares young women to make a difference in the world. There is no other all-girls day and boarding school like us in Canada. We have been at the forefront of girls’ education for almost 150 years. At just over 220 students from Grade 4 to Grade 12, we are small by design. That means every girl is recognized and honoured for the individual she is. We believe the best entry point to a large and complex world is a warm and personal learning environment with ample opportunities for personal discovery and growth.

Academics
The academic program at Trafalgar Castle School allows each girl to discover her potential and find her unique path. Our emphasis on authentic learning and real-world problems encourages risk-taking and experimental thinking. The last thing any girl needs is the pressure of perfection. We want our students to make interesting mistakes: that’s how innovation and new solutions come to light. That’s also how resilience, compassion and confidence develop.
School Life
Every day at Trafalgar Castle School, our students enjoy a full life outside the classroom. In an all-girls’ environment, every opportunity is available to learn about leadership, team play, artistic expression and community action. And of course, the girls relax, have fun and get creative while they try new things and explore who they are.
More than anything, our School Life program is designed to help every girl know and value herself in a meaningful way. We recognize that self-respect lies at the heart of true confidence. Through all of the activities and opportunities available, Trafalgar girls learn they are capable and use their voices to shape the world.
