Robert Munsch Public School was built in 2009 and is located in north Whitby, east of the former Cullen Gardens site. The current school population is over 700 students. Our school population includes a mix of walking students directly in the area as well as bussed students living east of Baldwin St. (Hwy 12). Robert Munsch P.S. now has 36.4 teachers and 2.5 educational assistants, including 1.5 Special Education Resource Teachers. Included in the student population are six Full Day Kindergarten classes.
Taunton North is a large neighbourhood located in northeast Whitby, with ongoing development, of both housing and commercial areas, including big-box stores. The southwest portion is home to a number of services and a shopping centre, as is the Taunton Rd and Thickson Rd area. Housing is a mix of townhouses, midsize single-detached homes, as well as some estate-style homes.
