Bellwood offers programmes from full day Kindergarten through Grade 8. The student population is approximately 470. We are a staff committed to delivering an educational program which provides students with the necessary tools and skills for the future. The staff members of Bellwood Public School are also committed to further developing our skills in common assessment and differentiated instruction, as well as setting clear learning goals for our students. Through this we strive to build strong literacy and numeracy skills in our students. Students will also benefit from our emphasis on character education and respect. We offer a variety of extra-curricular programs for students: a multitude of sports teams, band, choir, a musical, and bell choirs to name a few. We aim to help develop a well-rounded child, ready to succeed in life.
The Blue Grass Meadows neighbourhood is in southeast Whitby. The neighbourhood features plenty of natural areas, parks, and multi-use paths, and it has easy access to Highway 401. A major shopping area lies at the intersection of Dundas Street East and Thickson Rd. Housing is mainly single detached, two-storey homes on good-sized lots, as well as townhomes and row homes.
