North Shore is a narrow strip along the north shore of Kempenfelt Bay, widening where the area's northern border turns northward to Penetanguishe Rd. The area offers beautiful views of the bay and features a walking and cycling waterfront trail. Open fields and forested areas are at the eastern section of this area. The neighbourhood has a mix of housing, with single detached homes on large lots, waterfront homes, apartment buildings, and row housing, as well as some commercial and professional services. Johnson's Beach and the Barrie Yacht Club are in this area.
