Elms-Old Rexdale is situated just north of Highway 40. There are various housing and architectural styles of properties in the area including new, custom built buildings, two-storey Georgian Revival homes, ranch, raised and contemporary bungalows, split-level houses and storey-and-a-half properties. The area is bordered by the Humber River to the north and to the east.
