Maple Leaf is located in the southwest of the North York district. This community houses a number of residential streets that back on to parkland and greenbelts. The original housing stock goes back to the 1950s and 1960s, and there are also many newer, custom-designed brick and stone properties in the area. The eastern side of the neighbourhood is known as North Park.
