Dublin Heights' motto is: Scholarship, Leadership, Character. Dublin Heights E&MS has a proud tradition (going back to 1823), of educating young people in the Bathurst and Sheppard community. Our over 862 students represent over 20 language groups. Russian is the predominant first language among our English as a second language students. Almost one-half of our students speak English as a second language. Dublin Heights E&MS hosts Special Education programs, including Grades 7 and 8 Gifted programs, a Physical Needs program, and Grades 5-8 Deaf and Hard of Hearing District-wide programs. Students are integrated into regular classes and resource support is provided as required by available support staff.
Music Program
Dublin Heights is pleased to offer a wide variety of music programs. In addition to an instrumental music program, students have the opportunity to play in the concert band as well as the Jazz Band. We have a keyboarding lab for students who are in our music program, as well as a co-curricular guitar club. Primary and Junior choir groups are generally inclusive of the whole class. Students have a chance to demonstrate their talents during our Holiday and Spring Concerts. They also perform at Canada's Wonderland.
Transitions
Dublin Heights works closely with our feeder schools and local secondary schools to ensure a smooth and successful transition for all of our students. Our Elementary Itinerant Counsellor is available to work with all our students, whether they are new to Dublin Heights, require some additional assistance, or are preparing for graduation. Our grade eight students visit secondary schools prior to making a final decision for their grade 9 placement.

The Gifted Program
Programming for our gifted programs are designed to meet the needs of the students; expanding the topics and knowledge through various strategies and projects. Currently, there is one grade 7, one grade 7 and 8 (combined), as well as one grade 8 class at Dublin Heights E&MS.
Extra Curricular and Sports Programs
Our students have access to a wide range of sports teams. Our school is proud of our numerous divisional championship banners in volleyball, basketball, track and field, soccer and ultimate Frisbee. The wide range of our extra curricular programs will provide something to engage each of our students.
Student Life - Where You Belong
Students at Dublin Heights take part in a challenging academic program. We’re also an Eco school and our students have taken up the challenge to improve our school's environmental appeal. The courtyard and front yard garden areas are evidence of our eco-club's diligence. We have an active Student Council that fund raises to support children's charities such as Free the Children. Our students have access to an outstanding in-school library program, which highlights literature that reflects the diversity of our community, and is the hub of the school. As well, Dublin prides itself in its involving and varied music program. Our students look forward to the celebration of their contribution to our school at our Spirit Assemblies. The most outstanding features of our school are its high academic standards, various student leadership opportunities, and an inclusive environment that values all learners. Groups of teachers meet in divisional teams within the school day to develop and reflect on their best practises. Our professional learning communities base their focus upon areas of need, illustrated by our most recent data. We then implement current evidence-based teaching strategies that will best meet our students' needs.
Parent and Community Engagement
To ensure parent and community involvement: The Dublin Heights School Advisory Council (SAC) meets throughout the year to hear about school programs and plan initiatives and activities that support student success. At Dublin, we believe that: parents and teachers work together to develop scholarship, leadership and character in our school community. Through our school support team meetings referrals for support and services are made to a variety of agencies.
