About Toronto Heschel School

The Toronto Heschel School was founded in 1996 by experienced and specialized educators who chose Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel as the religious and philosophical inspiration of the school, to impart to the children the spirit of awe, thanksgiving and wonder. At The Toronto Heschel School, we approach your child’s growth as a whole: intellectual, creative, social, ethical and physical. Our community is inclusive and respectful of all Jewish practices. At Heschel, the whole curriculum is integrated which promotes a deeper understanding of the content and allows children to apply their learning across all disciplines. Our students are encouraged to think about global issues and also to act. The Toronto Heschel School is committed to environmental education and stewardship and we are proud to be the first Jewish Day School in Ontario to reach Platinum EcoSchool status.

Toronto Heschel School is located in Clanton Park

Clanton Park, sometimes referred to as Dublin Heights or Wilson Heights, is sandwiched between Downsview Park, formerly CFB Downsview, and Earl Bales Park, named after a former reeve of North York. It also contains several smaller parks. The housing ranges from 1950s bungalow style homes to new medium rise condominiums.
