We are home to Beatty Buddies Daycare and the City of Toronto Parks and Recreation Earl Beatty Community Centre.

Safe and Caring Schools
The staff and families at Earl Beatty have worked together to establish a safe and caring environment at the school. Our code of conduct is based on our motto of Learning Together and outlines expectations for student conduct. These expectations align with the TDSB character education qualities that we focus on in our daily announcements and monthly assemblies. Teachers use the TDSB Character Development Resource Guide to develop common understandings and approaches to living and learning together.

Full Day Kindergarten
Our Full Day Learning program is a child-centred, inquiry and activity based program that reflects the developmental needs of young children. Classroom activities and challenges are modified to meet the individual needs of each learner.
Technology
Our classrooms are always filled with students who are using technology as a tool to explore the curriculum. We have worked with our parents to fund portable Smartboards, iPads, and laptops which are being used in our classes. Our school is also now equipped with wifi! We use our school blogs, twitter, and our website to communicate effectively with our community.
Sports at Earl Beatty
Students at our school have many opportunities to participate in athletic activities. In the fall, over 200 students from grades 1 to 6 take part in our cross country running program. Over the years, our teachers have coached a wide variety of teams that compete with other schools in the TDSB. In the spring, students in grades 2 to 8 participate in track and field events.
Arts at Earl Beatty
The Arts play an important role at Earl Beatty. All homeroom teachers follow the Ontario Visual Arts curriculum and the students produce fabulous works of visual art each year. In addition, there is a strong focus on Music with two concerts each year - Holiday and Spring.
Student Life - Where You Belong
Earl Beatty is a very busy place. Students have many opportunities to participate in the life of the school in a variety of ways. As well as our sports teams, students can be part of many clubs, including folk dance, homework club, karate club, games, math, leadership, and environment club. Every year we have our Terry Fox event and Team Building Play Days. Classes are out of the school on field trips regularly to places in and around the city. Our students receive swimming instruction in our pool. Many classes make regular use of the neighbourhood public library. Students in grades 4 and up are all offered the opportunity to take on leadership roles in the school. These students help out in the office, do announcements, assist the caretaker with recycling, assist in the library and engage younger children at play during recess and help with pizza lunches.
What Sets Us Apart
The very strong partnership of staff and parents working together makes Earl Beatty an excellent learning environment for students. Our parents volunteer in the school in many capacities; in classrooms, to read with students, prepare materials and work with children when a Scientist or Artist is in the Classroom. They also volunteer in the library and provide supervision and support on field trips. Parents are integral to the successful of the school. Under the umbrella of the School Advisory Council, many parents actively serve on a variety of committees including Environment, Fundraising, Arts, and the Kindergarten Advisory Committee. Our Community Centre After School program is a joint effort of school, community centre and parents and provides enrichment opportunities for our students. Parents also organize and run a number of fundraisers which support enrichment opportunities for our students.
Parent and Community Engagement
Parents are involved in supporting the school through the Earl Beatty School Advisory Council (EBSAC). EBSAC advises the administration on school programs and policies and is composed of parents, staff and community members. EBSAC is also responsible for fund raising which supports enrichment programs such as Learning through the Arts, Scientist in the School and school wide performances. EBSAC has also purchased technology such as Smartboards, Mobis, and Mimios to enhance classroom instruction. They also supported the wifi connectivity of our school. The EBSAC also organizes social events throughout the year that build a strong community feeling. Holiday in the Hood, Enchantment under the Stairs, and the yearly Fun Fair are some examples. These events are very well attended and we anticipate more of the same in the coming year.
