Student Life - Where You Belong
We believe that students helping students fosters a sense of family and belonging in the school. To this end, our senior students serve as peer helpers in our junior classrooms through the Peer Helping Credit Course and through our Peer Tutoring Program. Our Mentors welcome newcomers to ACI and run a fun and information filled Orientation Program for our incoming Grade Nine Students. Our students have a tremendous spirit of giving. Our annual Christmas cheer campaign raises over $6,000 for local charities. Students also organize disaster relief fund campaigns. Students can participate in art exhibits, drama productions, music concerts, science fairs, math and robotics competitions, sports, business and technological competitions. Other activities include the Environmental, Stage Crew, Newspaper and Yearbook clubs. At Agincourt we have over 50 clubs and councils. Our Agincourt Lancers compete in basketball, volleyball, soccer, field hockey, golf, tennis, flag football, curling, cross country, rugby, lacrosse and Ultimate Frisbee, and much more. Student life at Agincourt is truly rewarding!
What Sets Us Apart
We are a desirable destination for students because of our strong reputation for high academic standards, combined with an inclusive and supportive environment that helps students of all backgrounds to succeed. Over 90 percent of our Grade 12 students advance to post-secondary education. We also offer strong remedial programs for students who run into difficulties. Our student success initiatives identify students who are at risk, and staff work with the students to create a plan to help set goals and attain success. At Agincourt, we are particularly proud of our Student Government. Students, through the Leadership Councils, participate in the development of school initiatives. Special leadership activities train our students to become active participants in both their school and their community at large. Recognizing student achievement is important. We celebrate student of the month selections and our principal's scholars recipients. Many of our graduates receive post-secondary scholarships through the generosity of our community partnerships.
Parent and Community Engagement
Among the largest and most influential of our community partners is our Agincourt School Council. The ACI School Council welcomes parents to join us at our meetings. The Agincourt Music Parents' Association is a "vital force" in supporting our co-curricular music program. Please join them on the first Monday of every month at 7:30 p.m. in the staff room. We are fortunate to enjoy the support of a third parent group, the Chinese Parents' Advisory Council. Quarterly meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Library.
