About St. Nicholas Catholic School

The official opening of St. Nicholas Catholic School was on Sunday, March 13, 1966. Since then, St. Nicholas Catholic School has served the neighboring community. The original building was taken down in 2011 and rebuilt. The school reopened in March of 2013. St. Nicholas was born in the early years of the fourth century. He was Bishop of Myra and is buried in their cathedral. One legend relates that St. Nicholas secretly provided a dowry of three bags of gold for three daughters of a man in Patara. The secret method of delivering the gold gave rise to the secret gifts of Santa Claus and the pawnbrokers symbol of three gold balls as one symbol for him.
