Our mission is to provide all students with effective, engaging and relevant learning experiences and supports in a safe and healthy environment in order to prepare them for success in the 21st century. Nottawasaga Pines Secondary School is a fully accessible school, designed to serve all students in an inclusive environment without barriers to student success and achievement. Academic programs will be student-centered, experiential, holistic, authentic, constructivist, democratic, project based, and challenging with a definite focus on interdisciplinary courses of study. Nottawasaga Pines Secondary School will offer a variety of multi-credit integrated courses focusing on themes, issues, topics and student experiences. These 2 and 4 credit integrated course packages will be specifically designed to reduce instructional fragmentation by increasing relevance and authenticity through a more holistic design.
Essa is a township located west and south of the city of Barrie in Simcoe County. The township is about 100 kilometres from Toronto and is well known for its agriculture industry, particularly potato farming. Nearby CFB Borden brings a strong military presence to the area as well, including a high number of Francophone families. Angus is the largest community in Essa Township, and the main access to the neighbouring Canadian Forces Base Borden.
