Our School

The Aurora Montessori School (AMS) has been offering excellence in education for 27 years for children 18 months to grade 8. Our Staff understand and then educate children’s unique capabilities and human potential, producing responsible, self-directed learners and critical thinkers. A multitude of special interest clubs, Spring and Summer Camps and Before and After-School Programs are just some of the enhancements that make our school unique.

Education

Many schools, whether intentional or not, tend to reward students who exhibit academic success, while depriving those whom have fallen short of qualities and milestones that are commonly considered to be characteristic of ?ideal? students. This type of learning environment leads to tremendous social and moral shortcomings on the part of the children involved.

Not only do we consciously discourage this philosophy, but are also highly opposed to the use of such systems in a learning environment. At AMS, we encourage and motivate all of our students to seek social and academic success; setting no limits for their individual achievements and goals.

Outside Grounds

At AMS, we believe that every student should have safe spaces to explore and nurture their individual sense of curiosity. Combining this with the hands-on experience of our teachers and staff is a process that encourages and supports learning at the fundamental level.

Our learning spaces facilitate the engagement of each student?s independent understanding; allowing them to have a personal area to develop their own skills in relation to these activities. This philosophy is the inspiration behind the development of the Children’s Village, also known as the Pioneer Village.
