Our School

St. Jerome Catholic Elementary School has students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8. We opened in September 2005 and we currently have 675 students. We are part of Our Lady of Grace Parish and Pastor, Father Joe Gorman and his staff work closely with us to help deliver our Religious Education Program and to support the Faith Development of our students.

The Catholic School Council also supports many school activities and we have a number of parent volunteers in the school, working with students, organizing our Hot Lunch Program and helping teachers with a range of activities. The staff of St. Jerome is a diverse group, with each teacher contributing their particular talents and skills within the school community. Our Grade 7 and 8 students have the opportunity to participate in the Luke 4:18 Committee, promoting awareness of Social Justice issues and leading in a very positive way within the school. We offer athletic activities, including Cross Country, Volleyball, Basketball and Track and Field. We promote healthy eating habits and offer nutritional lunches and milk programs at a reasonable cost. We have a chess club, a student choir, a drama club and intramural activities for students.

In addition, we are a school that is very concerned for our environment as we continue various programs such as food recycling, paper recycling, and planting flowers. We have maintained our silver status as an Ontario certified ecoschool and work towards gaining a gold status in the future. St. Jerome CES continues to be a giving school and have raised money for various causes such as the Terry Fox Foundation and ShareLife as well as for current disaster areas.
