In this School Guide, you'll find out more about the schools children in this neighbourhood can attend, including public, Catholic, and private schools.

Allandale is a historic part of central Barrie that lies between Allandale Centre and Allandale Heights. All of the Allandale area was once a railway town in Innisfil Township, and was annexed by Barrie in 1896. The area is a mix of commercial and residential properties, and a mix of housing, with both historic and newer homes. Part of the community is bordered by the south shore of Kempenfelt Bay, with park lands and a gorgeous walking and bike path. The South Shore Community Centre was formerly the Master Mechanics building for the Grand Trunk Railway, and incorporates this heritage into the modern facility it is today.
