Allandale Centre

In this School Guide, you'll find out more about the schools children in this neighbourhood can attend, including public, Catholic, and private schools.

Allandale Centre, in central Barrie, is a historic area that lies north of Allandale and Allandale Heights. The eastern border is Lakeshore Drive, which runs along Kempenfelt Bay. The Allandale GO train station is central to the identity of the community. The old station, originally for the Grand Trunk Railway, was the industrial and employment hub of old Allandale. The station once saw about 50,000 people go through it each summer on their way to and from cottage country a century ago. The area features historic homes with notable architecture, as well as newer homes and shopping and dining establishments. Walking and bike paths run through the park lands along the waterfront.
