The mission of Lake Simcoe P.S. is to create a learning environment that will assist students to become self-motivated learners and responsible members of society.
History
Lake Simcoe P.S. is named after the nearby lake of the same name. The area is well known as a tourist attraction and the lake is significant in the early development of the area. Our school motto is STAND PROUD.
Facilities
Lake Simcoe P.S. was officially opened in 2001. Lake Simcoe Public School houses a Junior/Intermediate Social Adjustment (Behaviour) class. The school has an adjoining soccer field, baseball diamond and playground jointly operated by The Town of Georgina.
Programs
As with each school in the York Region District School Board, Lake Simcoe P.S. support student learning through the curriculum standards set out by the Ontario Ministry of Education and many other co-curricular activities.
Our school:
- promotes a safe and supportive learning environment. This is done through the Board's Safe Schools Policy and Procedures and the Character Education Initiatives
- provides Special Education Programs especially in the area of behaviour
