Our Kindergarten to Grade 6 school has been a French Immersion Centre since 2008. The school was built in 1955 and has a long tradition of serving the East Guelph community. Edward Johnson is a place where our students love to learn, enjoy new experiences and make friends. With our bilingual program, at Edward Johnson we strive to provide rich learning opportunities for our students. Edward Johnson is a community of learners – students, staff members, parents and community helpers – working together to achieve our goals and to build a successful learning experience. We continue to offer a variety of extra-curricular activities and love to have parent volunteers involved in our school.
Waverly is a large, mostly residential neighbourhood in north-east Guelph, bordered by Eramosa Road, Victoria Road North, and the Speed River. The southern part of Waverly is across the river from downtown Guelph, while the northern part is bordered by parkland, forests, and farmland. Guelph General Hospital is in Waverley, and there are commercial areas along Eramosa Road, Victoria Road North, and Speedvale Avenue. The rest of the neighbourhood is composed of a mix of housing types.
