About Glen Williams PS

Glen Williams is a hamlet in the Credit River valley and is part of Halton Hills in the Halton Regional Municipality. The Credit River extends over 1500 km from the Niagara Escarpment, emptying into Lake Ontario at Port Credit, Mississauga. The historic Williams Mill, originally built by Benajah Williams and sons Joel and Charles in 1825, was lovingly restored in the 1990's and is now a thriving visual arts center with working studios for artists and craftspeople. Glen Williams Public School moved from it's original location at 11 Prince Street to its current location, directly across from the Mill in 1965. It is currently home to approximately 220 children.

Glen Williams is a hamlet in the Credit River valley. Glen Williams is home to many visual artists, contains a collection of artist’s studios and is a major draw to the area. Famed Group of Seven artist A. J. Casson often spent summers in Glen Williams, which he used as a base to paint local scenes. The character of the hamlet of Glen Williams is largely defined by the heritage buildings, which help give Glen Williams its distinctive look and feel. Glen Williams is also home to many species of birds, mammals and fish, with the river providing an exemplary habitat for them.
