Our School
History
Bogart P.S. is named after the Bogart Family who have had their roots in Newmarket area since 1803. Bogart first opened its doors in the fall of 1993 making it 24 years old this year. Our school motto is Responsibility, Respect, Reason and Reputation. Our school mascot is the Bogart Bear.
Facilities and Capacity
Bogart Public School was officially opened in 1993 and remains a beautiful, large facility. In the summer of 2003, a link and a 4-pack were added offering us even more room to grow. We have a current enrollment of approximately 630 students, and employ around 60 staff in the capacities of; secretaries, caretakers, teachers, educational assistants, health workers, child care workers, administrators, support staff including special education teachers, E.S.L. teachers, librarian, and French teachers. Bogart Public School is also the home of a community class for a Developmental Disabilities program. As well, we house the ACCESS Program for the North area of schools. A child-care centre, Bogart Child Care Centre, owned and operated by York Child Development & Family Services, is located on our site and offers both a day care and before/after school program.
