The Pinecrest area is a popular neighbourhood, located in northeast Oshawa. Pinecrest features an abundance of green space, being home to the Harmony Valley Conservation Area, and with Harmony Creek and the East Branch of Oshawa Creek running through, as well as having a number of parks. Pinecrest has a cinema, and a shopping centre, with restaurants, on its northern boundary, Taunton Rd. Housing is mostly newer single-detached homes (1990s–2000s), as well as townhome complexes, a co-op complex, and an apartment complex. Pinecrest is close to two golf courses and is convenient to the University of Ontario Institute of Technology and Durham College.
