North Agincourt Junior Public School is committed to working with parents and community members to educate every student in a safe, caring triple-track environment (English/ French Immersion/ Extended French) which meets the needs and enhances the talents and abilities of the whole child. Where We are Located
North Agincourt Junior Public School is situated on a park and ravine cul de sac amid a largely single family home community based in the old village of Agincourt. We are located between Brimley Road and Midland Avenue, just north of Sheppard Avenue East.
Interesting Feature
French Programs
Currently, the school offers two French programs in addition to the English program. About two thirds of our students are enrolled in a French Program. The Early Immersion Program provides instruction in French from Senior Kindergarten to Grade 6. The Extended French program is also offered at our school. This Extended French program began in 2005, and offers instruction to Grades 4, 5 and 6 students with half a day of English and half a day of French instruction.

Our History
North Agincourt Junior Public School opened in 1957. The school has undergone many changes throughout its long history. In the past, North Agincourt was a Kindergarten to Grade 8 school. Throughout the history of the school, parents, staff, and students have worked effectively with a very diverse student population.
Learning For All
At present, our school serves as a great place of learning for about 360 English, French Immersion and Extended French program students from Junior Kindergarten through to Grade 6. Our staff strives to ensure success for all students every day.
Diverse Student Population
Our students come to us from a variety of neighbourhoods. Some students take the bus here to attend our French programs and others live in our immediate area. We are lucky to have a very diverse student population.
Building a Respectful School Climate
Our objective is fostering respect for each other through team building and cooperation. We use the TDSB Character Education program to continually foster a positive school climate. We are also very proud to be a Gold Level EcoSchool! Our students bring "boomerang" lunches to school; they take home all compost, recycling and garbage for proper disposal.

Student Life - Where You Belong
Students at North Agincourt Jr. PS will meet friendly, hard working and dedicated teachers. They will have daily opportunities to learn and succeed. There are many clubs, sports teams and co-curricular activities offered at the school. They will have fun at school while being engaged in worthwhile learning! Some of the students are in the French Immersion program, which starts in Senior Kindergarten. French Immersion students learn in French for most of their school day. Students receive instruction in specialty subjects such as Physical Education, Music, Library and Computers in English. Starting in Grade 4, French Immersion students will receive about 40 minutes per day of English instruction. We also have Extended French students who have half of their instructional day in English and half in French. The Extended French program starts in Grade 4 and continues here until Grade 6. The rest of the students at our school are in the English program, and their classes are all in English; from Grade 4 to 6, students are taught French for 40 minutes each day.
What Sets Us Apart
Our school continually emphasizes strong literacy and numeracy programs through assessment/evaluation measures that inform teaching to high standards. Our teachers utilize a Balanced Literacy and Numeracy program in both the English and French tracks, from Kindergarten to Grade 6. Each classroom is equipped with an Interactive Whiteboards in our school. Students also have access to iPads and computers as tools to support their diverse learning strengths. We are a Gold Level EcoSchool and we are working on several initiatives to continue to maintain Gold status this year. We incorporate restorative practices in classrooms and around the school. We follow the TDSB Character Education program and hold regular Recognition Assemblies to celebrate student successes.
Parent and Community Engagement
We have an active School Council whose members support student success through fund raising, organizing special events, and volunteering their time. We have supportive parent volunteers who regularly assist in the school's library, classrooms, the Nutrition Program, on excursions, with special programs, and many other areas of school life. Fundraising enhances school programs such as Scientists in the School, Agendas and Drama/Musical Performances for our students. Fundraising initiatives also support student achievement in reading through the Blue Spruce Reading Program, the Silver Birch Reading Program and Boys' & Girls' Reading Programs. Our Lunch Room Supervisors are North Agincourt parents and members of the community.
