About Clairlea Public School

Clairlea Public School, located on Rosalind Crescent in Scarborough, first opened in 1952. In September 2002, the French Immersion program from Kindergarten to Grade 8 was introduced. We offer the unique opportunity of early French Immersion to interested Senior Kindergarten students and their families. We strive to enable all students to reach high levels of achievement and to acquire the knowledge, skills and values needed to become responsible members of society. We are committed to providing a learning environment that is safe, nurturing, positive and respectful. This is enabled through the active involvement of our students, staff, parents and community.

Clairlea Public School is located in Clairlea-Birchmount

In the 19th century the intersection of St. Clair and Victoria Park was home to a small village named Moffat's Corners, and the rest of the region was rural. Clairlea was one of the first parts of Scarborough to be developed as a Toronto suburb, being transformed in the early 1950s. Today it is a middle income neighbourhood that features many affordable homes and mature streets.
