The Arts
Our comprehensive arts programs—visual arts, drama, computer arts, photography and music (strings, instrumental and vocal)—have a special place at Forest Hill Collegiate. Beyond the classroom, students showcase their talents in many ways - student written and staged drama productions, captivating music and vocal performances, multi-media art showcases, the Forester which recaps special memories from the school year and the Golden Falcon, our student-produced online newspaper highlighting students and school events.
English as a Second Language
We offer students a complete range of English as a Second Language (ESL) courses. The cultural diversity of our English Language Learners enriches the lives of all students, adding a new dimension to our collective understanding of global issues. Our students represent over 60 different nationalities and speak over 50 different languages!

Student Success Team Works for You
Our Student Success Team meets regularly to help students in Grade 9 and 10 who need additional support to meet the demands of high school. In the first semester, they help students with their studies. In the second semester, they offer more intensive support, including credit courses to develop their learning skills and recover credits missed in the first semester.
Fabulous Facilities
Completely renovated in 1992, we offer you amazing facilities with temperature-controlled heating and air-conditioning systems. The public areas are bright and airy with a full wall of windows in the cafeteria and Library Learning Commons. The front foyer and the centre courtyard are places where we gather to celebrate and enjoy student art and performances.
Athletics and the Library
Our gym and pool are outstanding and support strong curricular and extra-curricular athletics programs. Teams compete at the local and provincial level with great success. The Library is a vibrant and active work-space, supporting classes and individual students. Students are taught how to access and assess relevant sources of information in the on-line world.
Supportive Guidance Counsellors
Our guidance counselors are available to assist students with academic, social or personal issues. They provide excellent support regarding career pathways, the course selection process, post-secondary options and admission requirements, and scholarship opportunities.

What Sets Us Apart
At Forest Hill Collegiate, we provide an ever-widening range of courses options that prepare students for cutting-edge college programs or traditional university studies. More and more classes are integrating on-line learning platforms and encourage collaboration and critical thinking. Students are given many stages on which to shine to compete through various contests and competitions (math, science, computer programming, DECA, drama, public speaking, model UN, debate, mock trials). Complementing our classroom-based learning, interested students have a wide variety of Cooperative (Co-op) learning opportunities in their senior years, allowing them to experience real life work environments.
Parent and Community Engagement
Through the active participation of parents and community members, the Forest Hill Collegiate Institute School Council works towards improving student achievement and enjoyment of the high school experience. The Council meets monthly at the school. Parents are encouraged to participate in Council meetings and to get involved in their children's learning.
