What Sets Us Apart
Runnymede Collegiate is proud of its culturally diverse community where rights, respect and responsibility are valued and where learning and teaching in a safe environment are top priorities. We have over 90 years of tradition in both academic and athletic excellence with clear expectations for students in the areas of attendance, performance and achievement. Examples of our long tradition of excellence in academics, sports, arts, social responsibility and community involvement are showcased on Runnymede’s Wall of Fame. This project was initiated for the school’s 75th anniversary. The Wall of Fame celebrates the exceptional contributions and accomplishments of outstanding graduates who have distinguished themselves as scholars, athletes, actors, entrepreneurs, innovators and leaders in their chosen fields. Each year a former graduate is inducted at our Commencement ceremony. Our most recent Wall of Fame inductee is Ms. Katie Telford, Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau.
Parent and Community Engagement
Our committed Runnymede School Council meets on a monthly basis to discuss, share, strategize and develop action plans to address the needs of the school and our school community. Staff, students, administrators, parents and community members share their collective expertise to enhance the learning and extra-curricular opportunities for our students. Our School Council is dedicated to hosting and providing relevant parent workshops and guest speakers such as TVO Homework Help, Social Media 101 for Parents and Student Exam Preparation Skills. We work closely with community agencies such as CultureLink to provide after school programming for our youth.
