At Lillian Public School our dedicated staff believe that all students can learn. Each student has strengths to share and with effective assessment tools, differentiated instruction and support, we continue to develop programs to assist learners. We strive to assisting students to grow and improvement so that they can reach their full potential. Lillian is located on a beautifully treed lot on Lillian Street. The school first opened its doors in 1949. While the community have changed since then, the strong commitment remains the same and is the focus on student success and community spirit.
School and Community Linkages
With a School Council which actively supports students and staff in the classroom, as well as field trips, pizza days, and other special events. Our School Council is a partner in our children's success. Kaleidoscope Day-Care Centre next door, provides support for working parents independent from the school.

Student leadership is shown with our ECO-KIDS and Ambassadors, helping to make our school, community and world a better place. What Sets Us Apart
Lillian is a certified PLATINUM Eco-School. As a community and school our Eco-Team, including our dedicated ECO-KIDS have developed our planning for the future. We care about our environment and our planet - and we are showing it. What are we doing: - Eco-Team, including principal, teachers, support staff and parents. - ECO-KIDS - supported by our teacher leader, educates and assists with initiatives in the school. - BOOMERANG LUNCHES - we are sending our refuse back home. Students take back their food waste for organic composting at home. - WASTE-FREE LUNCHES - we encourage students to have no garbage at the end of their snack or lunch with the use of reusable containers and water bottles. - RECYLING - we encourage students to reduce their recycling by using reusable containers. Recycling bins and containers are available for school use.

Student Achievement
Our caring staff is committed to ongoing professional development that supports student achievement. and learning. Our School Improvement Plan focuses on the delivery of the Ontario Curriculum. Ongoing professional development for staff which focuses on improving student assessment, program delivery and student achievement as the provincial Growing Success document.
Regular Instructional Programs
Lillian has an array of programs during the school day based on the Ministry curriculum, including Full Day Learning. - Language including English, English as a Second Language for newcomers; French as a Second Language (Grade 4 and 5); Mathematics; Science and Technology; Arts - Music, Visual Arts, Drama, and Dance; Social Studies; Physical Education, including Health.
Special Education Programs
Lillian has two special education programs to support students: - an Intensive Support Program (ISP) classroom services students with identified special needs from Grade 1-5 - a Home School and Resource Program provides support for formally identified students with needs from Grade 1-5.
ARTS Program
Lillian has an extensive Arts program that from JK through 5. Our class teachers, as well as our music teacher leads our students through vocal music, instrumental (ORFF and recorder), visual arts, drama and more during weekly classes. The wonderful work of our students and teachers is showcased on the walls, assemblies, concerts, and other occasions.
